10:36 am - Facebook Game-age

I was one of those people who derided Facebook users. I tried Myspace and honestly never saw the appeal; honestly, do you really need a horribly designed page full with nothing but comments of people who come to see you and very little of your own content.
While I really like LJ, I tend to use it mostly to read other journals (esp fanfic) and occasionally post a random thought I have. I still like LJ above most all the other 'social networking' sites I've seen.
I even tried Twitter and find it most useful for my verbal diarrhea while watching a TV show; I did this on LJ but Twitter is nice to search for people watching at the exact same moment. Other twitter stuff (the following etc), I'm not into so much.
But now I see why FB is popular. I've been sucked in...it's the damn games. I've played at least 10 of the Facebook app games and a few of them (ok, ok....most) are addicting. I've actually started to invite random people on FB so I can grow my stupid vampire clan and complete a few more of the missions. ARGH!!! This is how it all starts and they suck you in!!
But I can't seem to break free!!! Must....obtain...Macleod Clansman....gah!! *off to play Bloodlines*

CHESS is one of my favorite musicals; oddly enough, I have an ex-boyfriend to thank for my love of CHESS, but the songs are so powerful and wonderful - I can't help but still love it :)
I just saw that there's a CHESS in Concert special that will air on PBS o/a June 17th. Froakin' A.
They even got Adam PASCAL as Freddie/The American. That right there is the win, baby.
Idina Menzel (of Wicked, Rent fame) was Florence; it should be a winning rendition of 'Nobody's Side,' my second favorite song from the musical. I'm curious to see how she compares to my favorite version by Judy Kuhn (although, Julia Murney is a close second)

Zomg & shenanigans.... I won a prize!! I just got an email that I won a DVD (The Zeta Project S1) from WZPL. Hehe, I bet the only reason I won was because I was the only person that bid on it. Yay me!
Correction: Only two people won, but they had three prizes to award. Hehe. I guess only me and one other person signed up for it. Hehe :) I'm happy that I got it! I loved this series when it aired.

Wow, I hadn't visited the AnimeOnDVD forums in a while when I was computer-less but I was in for a shocker. Just visited today and they're gone. AOD is now Mania and the forums they have kind of suck (I miss the Retail forum :/ Bleh) It's kind of sad.

8:12 am - Books: Curse the Dawn (small lovefest, spoilers)

Mmmmm. I just got Curse the Dawn on Saturday and read it madly. Very awesome and a cool resolution to part of Cassie's battles; on the romantic side, she's still a big fat Blueberry Waffle who can't pick yet. She doesn't even seem to realize she's waffling and Pritkin is still mostly clueless. I like how Chance inserted a possible mistress for Mircea, but as a fan of her other books, I'm pretty sure that it's his dhamphir daughter, Dorina.
It's almost sad finally getting a book you wanted so badly, since now you have to wait at least another year and half til the next one :x Luckily Chance will have another story w/her half-Were war mage, Lia, coming out soon (July 7, 09) and Death's Mistress out this fall. YAY!
